Twist on Pin Cushions
I always try to come up with some new ideas for crafts and I just love the way this pin cushion looks.
The fun part is, that you can make this in any style you like. Dress up or down, country or shabby chic, it doesn't matter they are fun to make and are fantastic gifts for anyone that likes to sew.
All you need is: paper mache pots, ribbon, fabric, fiber fill, hot glue gun, flowers, stickers, paint, sealer, glue on rhinestones, paint brush, yarn, pins and anything else you would like to decorate it with
It is a perfect way to use your leftover craft materials even decoupage with stickers.
How to get started:
Start by painting the paper mache pot in your desired color and let it dry. If you decoupage, do this now, if not seal the color with a paint sealer or a puzzle saver ( I used Mod Podge puzzle saver) to give it a shine. Let dry.
Cut a square from your fabric, that is a little bigger than your pots diameter at the opening. Make a ball out of the fiber fill and put it in the center of your fabric square. Fold the corners over and shape a ball, adjust the size of the ball by either adding more fiber or take some out, so you get the appropriate size for your pot. Use a string of yarn to tie the bottom of the ball and hot glue the rim of the pot to the sides of the fabric ball.
Finish decorating and let dry for a bit.
I hope you give it a try!
